Hey batch!
A few of us were thinking of going to support RJ next Wednesday! :D. Yeah okay so here's the tentative plan: We leave right after school, rush to RP, try our very best to get in, and then once it's over we rush back for band. I THINK we should be able to make it back on time ><.
Hm to prevent what happened last time with poor Julia who didn't have anyone to cab with, can we at least find out who wants to go, so that no poor soul gets left out? Yeah but because we'll probably be short of time it will be like the last time - grab 4 people and GO! :D
By the way, results are only out the next day? And yeah their syf is 2.30, I think ><.

Dearest rgssb batch09,
I, really, only have one thing to say to you guys, the bestest best batchmates anyone could every find:
THANK YOU so much for, well, so many things, and I'm SO PROUD of all of you.
(Oh fine, that's two. Couldn't stop myself! :P)
Anyway I guess all there is to be said has already been said. I think our batch is more or less completely united in how we're viewing SYF'09. (Or actually, maybe even the entire band.)
We're sorely disappointed by the results, but fiercely determined to cling on to what we know our purpose is. To the comfort of how much we've enjoyed SYF'09, in its entirety. To move on from there.
As Eeiyn put it: (gosh Eeiyn I've never heard you so 'cheem' before! :P)
"Anyway, now my thoughts are that I would like to thank the silver award. Without you, our band wouldn't be more bonded then we are now (imho), our batches wouldn't have things to talk about after SYF, we wouldn't be able to humble ourselves, I wouldn't have known the true meaning of performing, I wouldn't have weighed the price between enjoying myself on stage and getting a silver for it (which I think the former was more worth it), I wouldn't have realised how much I enjoy Band ... and I wouldn't have felt for the first time that medals are nothing more than a brand. So thank you silver! You have done a great job and I am thankful for you!"
It's been a huge blow to our pride (personal and collective), but I daresay we didn't give this anything less than our best. Which I feel, by the way, doesn't necessarily constitute 100% of our energy; because realistically speaking, we're in RGS, and have many other commitments. And I honestly find does not necessarily equate to crying our hearts out over undesirable results.
Yeah. I'm so so proud of all of you for your resilience and love.
Batch'09, you guys have been the greatest! (Not discounting my love for RGSSB'09 as a whole, of course.) We've still got several months left to leave our legacy - and though some may contend with how valid our legacy is, I hope that all of you may, at the end of our journey, look back on it without shame or regret. And declare, with pride and fervency, that we are rgssb band girls.

Call the Psychic Hotline from your cell phone and ask if they know what floor your on.
Hold the doors open and say you're waiting for a friend. After a while, let the doors close, and say, "Hi Greg. How's your day been?"
Drop a pen and wait until someone goes to pick it up, then scream, "That's mine!"
Bring a camera and take pictures of everyone in the elevator.
Move your desk into the elevator and whenever anyone gets on, ask if they have an appointment.
Lay down the Twister mat and ask people if they would like to play.
Leave a box in the corner, and when someone gets on, ask them if they can hear ticking.

BATCH CHALET IS COMING SOON! It's in less than a week, by the way, and um, I couldn't find the packing list, so I'm writing another one out ><. Okay I found the packing list but I'm going to write another one out ANYWAY. -grins-
PACKING LIST
(basically, we'll be wearing either pinafore with some shirt and (hopefully) shorts, or culottes with a school approved tee to the chalet. It's more convenient to rewear the culottes?)
1. Band tee + culottes + shorts! (it's the suggested attire for inunion!)
2. Sleeping bag
3. Pillow/soft toys/whatever you need to sleep with
4. Pyjamas - 1 or 2 sets
5. T-shirts and shorts for outside wear - 2 or 3 sets? probably 2.
6. Underwear - 2 sets, I think
7. Jacket - if you think it'll be cold. suggested: HOODIE (although we ought to label our hoodies so they don't get mixed up!)

Hello batch!
Anyway, in case you've been very very very very very removed from batch matters, here's a simple update. There's batch chalet, on the 12th to the 14th of November. At some HomeTeamNS place? and um, do pay Pearlyn once the call to pay Pearlyn goes around, before her parents get pissed or something yep yep. And Inunion's on the 14th. (which happens to be Pearlyn's birthday haha :D) And Alicia's leaving on the 13th and we're sending her off and yep.
Do you guys want to organise some sort of batch outing, either like soon, or during the hols? Although I guess batch chalet would be good enough... but, haha I don't know :D.

Hi,
Thanks everyone for staying back to clear up the band room tirelessly, both yesterday (until a whopping 7.30pm for some) and today (for those who sacrificed CES). It's heartening that everyone's willing to put in that bit of sacrifice - though I think credit should go out to the sec2s as well.
"Well begun is half done," quoting Mary Poppins (teehee :D)
Now the only thing is to sustain it, so let's not get complacent/conceited. Everyone refer to Eeiyn's latest Some General Reminders (aka nagging) email!
Photo of the amusing scene that left the six or so of us - left in the band room til 7+ yesterday uncovering bits of history (along with unwanted organisms plus nose-tickling tufts) - shrieking.

Btw, we took down the curtain in that background today, and along with it about tenthousand dead insects.

Hello Batch!!!
Just want to say that I'm very proud of everyone today! (: I feel super happy after band today cause I see that our batch is initiating change! :D :D YAY!
We'll do all the stuff that Mr Oura wants us to. :D
The SC finalists are pro too. :D And and...
Hmm..how's the organising of the section areas coming along? Does anybody know? And i was thinking maybe we should have packet drinks for future band camps...Teehehe...Seeing the amount of plastic cups that we threw away today with all the webs and stuff there. :O And ha! This is a crazy idea...But I'm just saying it anyway, maybe we should wash the band carpet somehow? HAHA!! So much saliva. :P
Ok..Maybe it's weird that I'm saying all these and stuff since I'm not of any significant position.
But just to tell you all that I really enjoyed the first band prac that we sort of took over today though we are still missing the sec 4s.
Let's carry on with our enthu-ness. Muahahahahahahaha...... Yay us!

Today is au revior '07 anniversary?!
We have come quite a long way since then right? :D.
And in 2 days, we'll be bidding the secfours farewell and we'll be top batch D:
Anyway, jiayou! :D. to all the leaders of '08/'09, whoever you guys may be, and yep, we'll all be there for you, okay! :D.
And jiayou to everyone with the various scary PTs and tests and orals and scary freaky things ><. We can do this, okay! :D

Please do take note of one particular one labelled "EVERYBODY LOOK AT SAMLEE'S FACE" because revenge is occasionally sweet (:
SIBF results - Div1, Silver, 82%, 3rd place
Just wanted to say -
You don't have to let the results define how much value you place on the effort you've put in these few months (though we were admittedly geared more up for Cadenza rather than SIBF). Nor do you have to let it define the standard of the band now, the standard of the band in the future; or even the attitude you bear towards band.
Please don't be too disappointed, everyone. If you don't know how to feel about it - a position I think most of us are in now - you don't have to let others mould that for you, you know. Let's just be contented with what we have and work harder.
To end off on a happier note again, will post just the batch photos (there are more at the url, though!)
